How often are y’all able to get out in nature and take some time for yourself? For me, it’s not as big of a priority as I’d like it to be. It seems like when you’ve got a job, a social life, spin class, church, errands to run, and a family to care for, time just slips away! Even though I LOVE all those things and am thankful to have a busy life, I think it’s important to take time for yourself and enjoy the beauty of the world around us. (Sorry if I sound like a hippie haha.) With social media always hounding us to post more and get more likes, it can almost feel weird to go for a long hike and have no cell service (Heaven forbid!)
I do feel really lucky to be living in a time when we’re all constantly connected! It’s fun to be able to see what your friends are doing and to share your experiences with others. I know I’ve had a blast just getting to know other bloggers via Instagram!
As great as it is to be connected to so many people 24/7, I’m going to try to make it a priority to unplug for a short amount of time once a week! So, while it may not be your thing to go for a full day backcountry hike, I encourage you to step out your front door and take a walk around your neighborhood or local park with no cell phone. I think we tend to miss so many simple details in life because it’s easy to get distracted by our phones.
Side note: One of my cousins gave me this pullover, and it has definitely become a staple in my closet! Patagonia really does make their clothes to last, so I don’t have to worry about this top pilling or unraveling, even after hundreds of wears.
Hope y’all are having a wonderful Monday! Thanks for reading!
