Hello hello! Holy moly this post is long overdue lol! Today I’m *finally* answering some FAQ’s I’ve been getting over the past few months.
Do you blog full time?
Nope! I work as a structural engineer in Boulder. I also get to work at Evereve part time! My schedule has a ying & a yang / a right brain & a left brain / a social time and a more serious time.. whatever you wanna call it! I am thankful for all my jobs – including blogging. 🙂
How did you start blogging / what advice do you have for new bloggers?
Wellll.. everyone has to start somewhere! You really just have to dip your toes in the water and test it out. Do you like showing your face to thousands of people a day? Are you ready to basically take on another job? (which, if you want your blog to grow, is a must.) You will never know until you try. To be completely honest with you, I didn’t expect blogging to be this much work! Soon I’ll be doing a post with more detailed advice on blogging!
What are your favorite places to eat / drink in Denver & Boulder?
Ahh so many options! I am just starting to get to know Denver a little better, so I’ll be doing a full post on that soon.
Denver – Narrative, The Rio (best margs omg), Rootdown, & the Denver Milk Market.
Boulder – The Rio (again.. rooftop is bomb), West End Tavern (best burgers!!), Backcountry Pizza & Taphouse (mmmm pizza and beer), Press Play (drinks + arcade games heck yes!), bartaco (we go there like twice a month lol), and Por Winehouse!
How tall are you?
5′-10″ & 34″ inseam! I’m oddly proportioned lolz
Advice for doing a fixer upper?
HAVE. PATIENCE.
It’s a process! I just remember a blur of months where I’d get off work, rush to our condo & eat a quick dinner, drive over to our new house, change into my grubby clothes, open a beer and get to work.
Have fun with it.
I remember right after we closed on our house and got the key, we drove right there and began tearing up the carpet! It was so exciting!!! Like it was finally OUR HOUSE – so we could begin making alll the changes to it that we had dreamed up in our heads. I also used to write Ryan love notes on the wall in paint.. just because I could! We ate a lot of pizza on the floor those first few months. Special memories!
Take a break.
Not kidding.. we didn’t take a weekend off until thanksgiving, and we had been working on it since early October. Time off can give you a new perspective and excitement for your projects.
Have any more questions for me? Let me know in the comments!
Have a great (short!) week!
