Happy Tuesday!! Today I’m SO excited to recap our stay at the Renaissance Hotel Downtown Denver. Ryan and I enjoyed a quick staycation there over Memorial Day weekend, and it was a blast! Even though we live only 45 minutes away, we rarely take the time to explore Denver together.. so it was the perfect getaway spot for a long weekend together!
The Renaissance is based on the old Colorado National Bank, it’s truly one of the most beautiful lobbies I’ve ever seen! If you appreciate architecture at all, then you *have* to visit this hotel. The coffered ceiling and the rows of pillars create a gorgeous stately feel. Old vaults are scattered throughout the building, and it’s fun to see the history that the building holds. The building was first constructed in 1915, and we could definitely admire the mix of the old with the new. One of the vaults in the lobby has been given a new purpose – instead of holding money, it’s now a meeting room for businesses.
When we arrived, we were greeted with a valet and a “Navigator.” The Navigators handle your check-in and check-out services, but they also are your go-to person if you have a question about the area. They know what to do in Denver, where to go, and what time. This definitely added a personal touch as we checked in!
The Room
One thing I really enjoyed about our room was the amount of space! It was so nice to stretch out and relax after a long work week!
The Food
This may have been my favorite part of the weekend haha. #foodislife! Range, the hotel’s restaurant, is located just off the lobby, and holy moly is it delish! There are SO many locally sourced ingredients on the menu!
Had my first gin fizz at Range! 10/10!
We started off our dinner with the Espresso Rubbed Elk Capprecio and the Colorado Pasture Board. Ryan was obsessed with Elk!
The service at Range was so friendly and fun. We really had a blast just getting to know the staff and learning about the food!
Another reason we enjoyed our stay was the location of the hotel! We were able to walk basically anywhere we wanted to go in Denver, including the Rockies game on Saturday night!
After a busy day of walking around Denver and being “touristy,” we were pretty beat! Sunday morning we just chilled in our room and headed back to Boulder.
If you’re looking for a fun place to stay in Denver this summer, definitely put Renaissance on your list! They are offering special weekend rates from $109 per night, available through the end of June with the code “LPR” upon booking.
Stay tuned for tomorrow’s post.. I’m sharing some my Denver favorites! (And all are within walking distance of Renaissance!)
Thank you to the Renaissance Hotel for hosting our stay!
