It’s been a while since I’ve written a pregnancy update, and honestly pregnancy has been flying by.. until the last week or so! I think I’ve had a pretty easy pregnancy so far – not too much morning sickness, a fantastic second trimester, and overall I’ve just been feeling good other than weeks 7-10 of the first trimester.
In case you missed it, you can read my first trimester recap here!
Once week 28 or so hit, I’ve been feeling pretty exhausted and uncomfortable. That being said, overall I still feel great… I just feel different if that makes sense!
Here’s the symptoms I’ve had since the 3rd trimester hit:
Generally uncomfortable – I just really struggle to get comfortable lately! Even sitting on the couch watching TV I have to use like 4 pillows haha! And I have to get up and stretch fairly often. It’s just weird to feel so cramped and full all the time. It’s hard to believe he’s going to grow even MORE!
Acid reflux / heartburn – I have NEVER had heartburn before in my life until now and let me tell you, it is not fun!! Sometimes if I drink too much water and lay down I even get it. I feel like all my meals just sit up at the top of my belly until they’re digested, so I have to make sure I remain upright after eating.
Out of breath – boy is it hard to take a deep breath right now!!! I knew the baby would take up a lot of space, but I didn’t realize it’d have so many side affects haha.
Peeing all the time – speaking of the baby taking up a lot of space… I have to pee all. the. time. Sometimes I swear he just kicks my bladder haha. I have to plan out my meetings / errands around bathroom breaks lol!
Constantly thirsty – this probably contributes to my need to pee so much haha. I really do need to have water on hand at all times. It’s crazy how thirsty I get if I don’t! I’ve also been craving ice water (specifically NUGGET ice), so we got this nugget ice maker from Amazon. BUT we ended up returning it bc it wasn’t worth the price tag for us. (I made this video to explain why!!) So now we just go to Sonic and buy 2 bags of ice to keep in our fridge and it’s the best. Highly recommend haha!
There have also been some really amazing things about the third trimester!!!
Baby kicks – the baby kicks are the beeeest! He moves a lot.. especially after I drink ice water! It’s just so magical to feel him move around.
Baby hiccups – I love feeling him hiccup. I typically feel them super low, like below my hip bones, so I think that means his head is down there.
Nesting – nesting is sooo fun haha!!! Ryan and I have never bought furniture together (we’ve been married a little over 3 years now), so we took this opportunity to revamp our home. I also just wanted a clean couch for the baby, and more seating for family and friend when they come to visit the baby.
Cleaning frenzy – I have never been so motivated to clean in my life!! I got a wet vac for all of our rugs, and it’s been sooo satisfying to use. I highly recommend it if you’re a clean freak like me haha. It’s crazy how much dirt comes up out of the carpet!
Sleeping well – I know this isn’t true for most pregnancy women, but I’ve been sleep SO WELL. I do wake up to pee quite often, but when I do sleep, I sleep so hard and it is wonderful.
One more thing I wanted to touch on was flying during pregnancy. We have flown a lot during this pregnancy, and my last flight was when I was 30 weeks. It was only a 2.5 hour flight, but it was tough. Like I’ve mentioned a few times before, I was just uncomfortable! If you’ve flown after 30 weeks, hat’s off to you haha!
It’s crazy to think that this baby boy could be here in a few days or 7 weeks! I have no clue when he’ll make his debut.
My due date is September 24.
Ryan’s guess is September 20.
My guess is September 10.
I don’t know why I think he’ll be early… maybe it’s because I already feel like there’s no space in my belly left, or maybe it’s because I’m just ready to meet him already haha!
I read that:
26% of babies are born in weeks 37 & 38
57% are born in weeks 39 & 40
It’s fun to play the guessing game! Right now I’m just anticipating meeting him so much. I can’t wait!!!
This dress (similar) has been great for taking bump pictures.. although I do wish it stretched a bit more haha!
I loved this dress for my baby showers – the shape is perfect for a bump!
If you have babies, did you deliver early, late or on schedule?
