Hi there! Well it’s safe to say that selling our first fixer was wayyy more emotional than I expected. My husband Ryan and I bought our first little home together in Lafayette, CO in 2018 and worked on it pretty consistently until we sold about a month ago. SO today I decided I wanted to document all the transformations we made. This house felt like home by the time we sold it, but when we bought it… well… let’s just say it was hard to imagine actually living there lol!
What better way is there to get back into blogging than to begin a new series?! I can’t wait to share all the before & afters of our home with y’all! ๐ I hope to inspire you and help you make your house / living space feel more like a home <3
So let’s begin with… the exterior!
bench | doormat | faux flowers: here & here | entry light
This home was a sweet little 70’s ranch with a basement. It had so much potential hidden behind the dated brown brick & green shutters. I know whitewashing brick is a controversial subject, but I personally LOVE it. Not everyone will agree and that’s okay! As my husband says, opinions are like buttholes… everyone has one and they all stink HA!
Anyways, I’ve shared the details about how we whitewashed our brick, the before & after with new landscaping, and how exactly we built our DIY house number sign. Today I’m so excited to share the finished product with y’all in case you’re wanting to up your curb appeal with just paint and minimal decor.
One thing I’m really going to miss is sitting on the bench on our front stoop. I loved sitting in the sun and saying hi to our neighbors who walked past. It’s crazy how something as simple as a bench can make a front porch that much more inviting!
Next week I’ll be sharing the details of our bedroom! Stay tuned! ๐
