Happy Wedding Wednesday! So pumped to continue to share our big day with y’all. π
So far here’s what we’ve covered:
Getting Ready
Our First Look
Our Ceremony at Evergreen Lake House
Now onto the details of our reception! The lake house is absolutely stunning on it’s own, and I’m a “less is more” kinda gal, so we kept the decor fairly simple. Our flowers and a few DIY decorations made the space feel even more rustic and perfect for us!
We made our centerpieces ourselves! Here’s what was required:
- logs to cut and make the wood cookies out of
- wood for the mini “mountains”
- 1/4″ dowels for the flag pole
- pvc moulding for the “flag”
- Ball mason jars for the vase (we HAD to get Ball jars because that’s where Ryan works)
- twine to wrap around the top of the jars
- votive candles
I wrote the mountain peak name with a regular Sharpie and the peak elevation with an ultra fine point Sharpie.
We also made our seating chart ourselves. All it took was a poster board, a map of Colorado, some pins, and some twine. And a lot of time ha. To emphasize the Colorado theme, we named each table after a “Fourteener” (a mountain in Colorado that’s peak is above 14,000 ft). Every pin was located at a mountain peak so our guests could see where their mountain was on the map!
Ryan made this CO wooden flag so that our guests could sign it instead of a book. It’s hanging in our living room now and we love having everyone’s signatures & messages on it!
I surprised Ryan with this cake because he loves Star Wars! And cake!
I knew I wanted a naked wedding cake and Vivian’s Gormet did an awesome job creating exactly what I wanted! This was my dream cake!!!
Our caterer was kind enough to make these pesto parmesan risotto balls drizzled with balsamic especially for us. It’s an appetizer we got on our first date at the Boulder Chop House. Needless to say I’m drooling as I type this.
We located our head table in the center of the room because we wanted to be in the middle of it all! It made it easier for us to speak with more of our guests.
