Three Podcasts I’m Loving + Why We Registered for a Beach Themed Comforter

Is it just me, or does it seem like podcasts are really having a moment right now?! I never realized how many were out there and how many different topics were covered. Pretty much anything you could want to learn about is covered in some podcast somewhere on the internet. From advice for striving entrepreneurs to home renovating tips to crime scene investigations, there’s something for everyone.

There’s three podcast in particular that I think I would be lost without. Okay, maybe that’s dramatic, but when I’m at work or on a longer run I loooove to listen to these podcasts! It’s a great way to learn a little bit and make better use of your time when you’re washing dishes, doing laundry, driving, exercising, etc. And they’re FREE. So here we go:

1.  Young House Love has a Podcast

Let me start by saying OMG SHERRY IS THE COOLEST! And John is pretty cool too. This podcast was created by a married couple who have a blog about home renovation, and it’s great resource for anyone who’s looking for ideas on how to spruce up their home. You’ll learn everything from what not to do during a home renovation to how to make your kitchen look 10x better on a budget. You’ll hear all the ups and downs of each home project and quickly fall in love with their fun personalities and quirky senses of humor.

2.  The Goal Digger Podcast

Jenna Kutcher (the host) is an entrepreneur who’s not afraid to be herself at all times. Her excitable and joyful personality is contagious, and I end each episode feeling more motivated about life. She typically interviews other female entrepreneurs who share some “words from the wise” about what they’ve learned along the way to success (and what they’re still learning!)

3.  Afford Anything

This podcast is fairly new for me (I’ve been listening for a few weeks now.) Since getting my first “real” job in Boulder, I’ve tried to save a certain percentage of my paycheck each month. Now that Ryan and I are married and beginning our lives together, we’ve been doing our research on how to retire early, buy a home, be a successful landlord, etc. Enter my research for a good podcast on being financial savvy. Paula Pant is the host of this podcast, and she’s extremely knowledgable on how to save money, the best investment strategies, what to do when buying a home, and a plethora of other financial topics.

Must listen episode: How to Believe Your Time is Abundant

Bonus: Unsolved Mysteries: True Crime Stories

So this one is actually pretty scary, and I probably wouldn’t listen to it if I had to sleep alone at night haha. BUT IT’S SO GOOD! The hosts relive old crimes that were never solved and lay out the possible suspects. It’s definitely fun to speculate who done it.

Alright! Now onto why Ryan and I chose to register for a beach themed comforter in our Colorado condo. LOL!

duvet cover // pillows // “mountain” pillow // breakfast tray // mug & plate

TBH we’re both water people.  We feel happiest by the lake or ocean, and Ryan had already established a beach theme in his condo prior to meeting me. Once I saw this pattern online, I showed it to him and he was open to putting it on our wedding registry. Obviously, we love both the mountains and the water.. hence the “the mountains are calling and I must go” pillow. It may seem like it doesn’t fit in this room, but for us it’s perfect!

Well that was a long one but I hope you enjoyed it and found a podcast or two that you’ll love!
