The Best Ski Runs in Colorado

HEY! I love skiing. I learned to ski when I was 5. I worked as a lift operator at Vail when I was 23. I love mountain sunrises and fresh powder, so I thought I’d share a few of my favorite ski runs in Colorado.

1. Steep & Deep, Vail Resort

This one is definitely a double black diamond, so beware haha. You need a lot of snow coverage to make it fun, so later in the season is better! It extremely steep and there’s trees scattered everywhere. You’ve got to be extremely accurate with your direction & speed, but if you’ve got the experience, it feels like a roller coaster!

2. Gunbarrel, Monarch Mountain

Monarch Mountain is one of my favorite mountains to ski! I first went there in 2016, when Ryan surprised me with a weekend getaway. The powder was AMAZING. Gunbarrel is a fun run because it’s off the beaten path and there’s tons of fresh snow!

3. Parsenn Bowl, Winter Park

Talk about powder.. If you can’t already tell, I love skiing powder haha, so this is one of my favorites. If you can catch Panoramic Express (the 6 person lift that takes you to the top of Parsenn Bowl) for first tracks, it’s the best thing EVER. You can choose whether or not you want to ski trees or the open field. The first picture above was taken in 2016 on Christmas Eve. It was magical!

4. Jones Pass

We had so much fun cat skiing on Jones Pass. It was unlike any skiing I’d done before! This was the first time I skied on “powder skis” (they were about 110 underfoot) and it was awesome! The wider skis took some adjustment, but once I got used to them, it made skiing powder so much easier. It felt like “floating” and I loved it haha!

What’s your favorite ski run?! Hope y’all get to go skiing soon!

If you’re curious about my ski gear, I’ve linked everything here.

Hope y’all have a great week!

xoxo liz
