Caribbean Cruise Recap

Let me just start this post off by saying.. I think we should all start off the new year with a beach vacation haha. 😉 In early January, I got to go on my first cruise to the Caribbean Sea. It was AMAZING. I’d never been on a cruise before, and it really was a fun vacation. One of my favorite parts was being in the middle of the ocean with no land in sight.

moon rise over the ocean!
couldn’t believe how massive the ship was.

I love this picture!

We flew into Ft. Lauderdale from Denver because our cruise began at Port Everglades in Florida. The ship send off was so much fun because everyone was on the upper deck, and we got to wave at all the ships and people on land!

unreal sunset view from the plane!
first picture.. still pale haha

We were sailing at sea for the first two days. Sea days are fun because there are tons of activities that you can partake in, or you can just chill on the upper deck and read (mostly what I did haha!)

Our first day at port was in Aruba. Ryan and I had a blast walking the beach, playing in the ocean, and getting some sunshine. On our walk back to port, we stopped at a cute beach bar and ended up meeting a couple from North Carolina that had just gotten engaged. It was so fun to hang out with new friends and enjoy happy hour together!

The next day, we went to Bonaire, where Ryan and I went on an ATV excursion. We got to see an old lighthouse and some caves. There were bats in the caves.. it was terrifying and cool haha. ALSO. I held a cactus!

Our next day at port was in Curaçao! We went snorkeling and it was seriously unreal. There were tons of different fishies haha AND we got to jump off the upper deck of the boat that took us to the snorkeling location. I’d say that was one of the highlights of the trip! Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics from that because I didn’t bring my phone – but trust me, if you’re ever in Curaçao, I highly recommend snorkeling.

Our last two days were spent at sea sailing back to the USA. We made a few friends on the ship, saw several hilarious shows, and just enjoyed having time to relax. I only turned wifi on once to check on a package and FaceTime my parents.

Going on a cruise is unique because you really have the opportunity to put your phone down and ignore the rest of the world. I feel like Ryan and I connected more because we didn’t have the distraction of our phones, and we couldn’t just google something if we had a question that we didn’t know. It felt like being a kid again!

I love this coverup! It’s what I wore while getting ready on our wedding day.

The “Love & Marriage” show was hands down the funniest show we saw!

Looooove this dress.. its so fun to wear haha.

FORMAL NIGHT!

This dress was my favorite 🙂 It’s sold out, but I’ve linked a similar one here.

Below, I’ve linked all my outfits. Just a heads up, I ONLY buy swimsuits from Target. And if you can’t tell, I don’t love swimsuit pics so there aren’t any haha! 😉

Where’s you’re dream vacation? I’d definitely go back to the Caribbean again!

Thanks so much for reading!

xoxo liz
