Woooo hoooooo!!!! The living room fireplace remodel is DONE and I can officially move all our furniture back. 🙂 Yay!! This has been a fun one – I started demo back in November and wrapped the project up this week (that’s just over three months of work, not counting the holidays + a snow week). I learned a lot during this process (like how to use a table saw & how to make pocket holes) and I am so proud of everything I accomplished – even if it did take longer than I thought it would. This transformation was SO. WORTH. IT.
When we first walked into this house, I knew the living room could be amazing. I had always pictured an electric fireplace here. Removing the extra deep original gas fireplace from the 90’s allowed us to regain about 20″ of living area in this room, which is huge for us! The furniture layout in this room has been a puzzle for me since it’s a pretty shallow space. I’m thinking that even just that extra space will give us a little breathing room with our couches.
We still need to mount the TV (that’s Ryan’s department!) and move the furniture back in, but I couldn’t wait to share how far this room has come in the past 3 months. Be sure to keep up with the progress on my IG stories – it’ll all be saved to this story highlight!
