Powder Bathroom Remodel

powder bathroom remodel, half bath wallpaper, mixed metals in bathroom, powder room makeover with wallpaper, coastal home design

The powder bathroom remodel of my dreams has officially come to life! I have been excited to makeover this bathroom since we bought this house almost two years ago (it’s the only bathroom on our main level) and it feels so good to have it done!!

Well.. almost done. I’m planning on installing DIY floating shelves above the toilet soon. 🙂

Cost Breakdown:

Total: $1671

(Not including caulk, tools, etc.)

This was my first time hanging pasted wallpaper, and I have to say I LOVE the process. I thought the corners were going to be super difficult, but honestly they weren’t that bad. The hardest panel took me 40 minutes, so it was time consuming to hang it all correctly. BUT if you enjoy the satisfaction of seeing the pattern line up perfectly while totally changing the vibe of a room, you will love the process as much as I do!!!

I was super excited to find this white oak wood refinishing kit on Amazon. It worked BEAUTIFULLY and was the perfect solution for transforming the red oak cabinets to modern white oak. I applied the primer and the stainable paint and then applied pecan stain with a chip brush.

This was my first time mixing metals in a space and I was really happy with how it turned out. I feel like black and gold is a safe option! I kept all the wall hardware consistent (gold) and kept the vanity hardware black. What do you think?
